Belay

To Belay a rope is to fix to a cleat, belaying pin, or something else to secure it.
The term 'belay' is also used as a command to cease an activity; 'Belay taking in the anchor cable!'
A belaying pin is a short wooden pin used to belay running lines. Belaying pins can be moved from place to place as needed.
