Cádiz is an island city in Spain in the Bay of Cádiz. The bay borders the mainland to the east and connects to the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
When Spain signed a peace agreement with France, the Duke of Belchite rowed out to HMS Indefatigable in the Bay and warned Pellew that the Puntales battery would fire upon Indefatigable if it was still in range a few hours later, prompting Indefatigable to get under way immediately.
Modern maps do not show any location of that name in Cádiz or in the surrounding area. Puntales may be either a name no longer extant or a fictitious name by the author.
