Truelove and Wilson were the most famous prize agents in England. At least a quarter of the Royal Navy employed the firm to handle their prizes for them. according to the Marquis de Sainte-Croix, they handled "fabulous" sums of money. This is perhaps justified by the HMS Caradoc and the large sums fetched by her captures.
Both Truelove and Wilson were known the frequent the Long Rooms.
